X-Gene™ 64-bit Processors with NVIDIA GPU Accelerators Deliver Significant Total Cost of Ownership Improvements for HPC Workloads
SUNNYVALE, Calif., June 23, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE)—Applied Micro Circuits Corporation (Nasdaq:AMCC) and E4 Computer Engineering today announced the companies have joined forces to design EK003 a low-power solution part of E4’s ARKA series, targeting High-Performance Computing (HPC) and big data workloads.
The platform combines AppliedMicro’s high-performance, low-power X-Gene™ CPU processor architecture with NVIDIA® Tesla® K20 GPU accelerators to deliver industry-leading performance per watt. The platform addresses a wide range of HPC workloads, including bioinformatics, CAD/ CFD, imaging and computer vision, as well as data analytics.
