A low-power 1/10 Gbps Ethernet PHY with fully adaptive electronic dispersion compensation (EDC). The PHY can be used in optical XFP, SFP+, and copper 10GBASE-CX Twinax or 10GBASE-KR backplane applications.
In SFP+ applications, the QT2225 supports 10GBASE-SR/LR/ER and Twinax copper cable 10GBASE-CX applications. The QT2225-1 utilizes the built-in industry-leading EDC circuitry and also includes 10GBASE-LRM support.
When designing for SFP+ applications, customers can generate one dual-rate design that supports SFP+ modules (10GBASE-R) and SFP modules (1000BASE-X).
In the receive direction, the device uses a sophisticated EDC engine that continuously adapts itself to the channel characteristics providing an optimum level of performance regardless of environmental conditions.
In the transmit direction, the 10 Gbps driver utilizes signal equalization to compensate for degradation due to copper traces and connectors in the signal path.
