• Mux/demux, transport overhead terminating transceiver and pointer processors for 1 x STS-48/STM-16s, and up to 8x STS-12/STM-4 or 16 x STS-3/STM-1s
• Pointer processing support for all valid combinations of STS-48c/STS-12c/STS-3c/STS-1 (and SDH equivalent) signals
• Transparent support includes:
  • TOH pass-through and remap transparency features
  • Backwards compatibility with Danube & Mekong devices
  • Provisionable remapping of TOH bytes for implementing on-chip proprietary TOH transparency schemes
• Client interface (Port D1), supports a serial interface for 1 x 2.5 GBps OC-48 signal or 1 x 622 MBps OC-12 signal
• Client interface supports multi-rate/any input SONET/SDH compliant serial interfaces for 8x 622 MBps OC-12 signals and 16 x 155 MBps OC-3 signals, in any valid combination
• Line port serves as a high-speed SONET/SDH compliant OC-48/12 network/line interface port
