Ural: 10G OTN FEC Encoder/Decoder (UFEC)
- OTN
- 10G Optical
- 10G
- Ural
Benefits
It is ideal for applications where line interoperability is important.
Ural combined with other AppliedMicro 10G OTN FEC/framer/mapper devices enhances the FEC decoding capability by providing a solution to terminate and interoperate with the majority of the deployed 10G links.
Ural combined with other AppliedMicro 10G OTN FEC/framer/mapper devices will be able to encode and decode links employing G.709 standard FEC (RS-8), G.975.1 I.4 (concatenated RS-BCH) and G.975.1 I.7 (orthogonal BCH-BCH).
Applications include enhanced metro “Black Link” interfaces (UFEC, EFEC, GFEC compatibility) and Packet over Glass (PoG) applications where connection of multi-vendor routers is required without losing the higher gain capability provided by the different enhanced FECs employed at 10G OTN rates.
Ural can fit in designs employing Yahara using either an in-line configuration or a coprocessor configuration.
Ural can fit in designs currently using Rubicon by simply placing Ural between Rubicon and the 300-pin MSA.
