  • 10G Optical
Data Rate
  • 10G
  • 40G
Family
  • PQX

Benefits

PQ60T is a highly integrated VLSI device designed to carry 6 x 10G or 1 x 40G multiservice signals by using OTN standard in metro and long-haul networks.

It is ideal for both Carrier Ethernet router and DWDM transport systems as this device can be used either as a simple multichannel PHY device with FEC capability, supporting pure 10GbE LAN/IPoDWDM, or as a highly integrated framer/FEC device, supporting SONET/SDH/WAN/OTN via its rich suite of OTN mapping modes.

With its integrated 10G physical interface and provisional Tri-FEC feature, it provides a seamless interface to XFP/SFP+ optical modules and ensures interoperability among multiple system OEMs.

In addition to its multichannel 10G support, the same device also supports ODU muxing/demuxing between ODU2 and ODU3 levels as well as 40GE functions such as MAC/PCS with XLAUI interface to 40G CFP optical module and 40GE transcoding to ODU3/OTU3 with SFI5.1 interface to 40G MSA 300 optical module.

With the same device supporting both multichannel 10G and 40G, users can reuse R&D efforts and therefore maximize return on investment.

Features

  • Monolithically integrates 6x industry-proven Yahara devices for high-density 10G multiservice (SONET/SDH/10GE/10G Fibre Channel/8.5G Fibre Channel/OTN) transponder cards
  • Includes Tri-FEC support (Reed-Solomon, G.975.1, I.4 and G.975.1, 1.7) for 10G/40G line-side while supporting Reed-Solomon for client-side
  • Integrated IO cross-connect
  • Integrated DPSK and DQPSK precoders
  • Integrates 10GE/40GE MAC/PCS termination, frame generation, and RMON functions
  • Supports latest 10G FC and 40GE transcoding for OTN transport
  • On-chip fractional-N clock synthesizer - only one reference clock is required to generate all line rates
  • Supports LAN, WIS, and all five 10GE mapping modes outlined in ITU G.Sup43, including:
    • 10GbE into WIS frame, and then into an OTU-2 (ITU G.Sup43, section 6.1)
    • 10GbE into OTU-2 via GFP-F mapping with two flow control modes (ITU G.Sup43, section 6.2)
    • Bit transparency mode - 10GbE mapped directly into OTU-2e/1e at 11.096 Gbps or 11.049 Gbps (ITU G.Sup43, section 7.1 & 7.2)
    • 10GbE into OTU-2 via GFP with preamble transparency (ITU G.Sup43, section 7.3, including ordered set encapsulation)
  • Full OTN and SONET/SDH (WIS compliant) overhead monitoring with overhead drop/insert support
  • 16-bit, 66 MHz microprocessor IF
