Benefits
PQ60T is a highly integrated VLSI device designed to carry 6 x 10G or 1 x 40G multiservice signals by using OTN standard in metro and long-haul networks.
It is ideal for both Carrier Ethernet router and DWDM transport systems as this device can be used either as a simple multichannel PHY device with FEC capability, supporting pure 10GbE LAN/IPoDWDM, or as a highly integrated framer/FEC device, supporting SONET/SDH/WAN/OTN via its rich suite of OTN mapping modes.
With its integrated 10G physical interface and provisional Tri-FEC feature, it provides a seamless interface to XFP/SFP+ optical modules and ensures interoperability among multiple system OEMs.
In addition to its multichannel 10G support, the same device also supports ODU muxing/demuxing between ODU2 and ODU3 levels as well as 40GE functions such as MAC/PCS with XLAUI interface to 40G CFP optical module and 40GE transcoding to ODU3/OTU3 with SFI5.1 interface to 40G MSA 300 optical module.
With the same device supporting both multichannel 10G and 40G, users can reuse R&D efforts and therefore maximize return on investment.
