OTN
As a pioneer in providing OTN solutions, AppliedMicro's portfolio of OTN framer/mapper products leverage AppliedMicro’s extensive expertise in OTN solutions gained through multiple generations of OTN product development. The portfolio includes products from 1G to 100G to meet the demands of fast-evolving edge, metro, and core OTN networks. With integrated high speed SerDes, EDC technology, fractional clock synthesizers, and forward error correction (FEC) technology, our OTN products provide the best optimization of power, cost, and performance. Our patented high coding gain FEC is widely adopted in the industry. The recent addition of SoftSilicon™ OTN products extend the solution with the benefit of FPGA flexibility and provide us the capability to meet customers' time-to-market requirement with leading-edge performance.
Yahara Family
10G Any-Client OTN Framer/Mapper/PHY with FEC/EFEC(G.975-1 I.4) and 10G SerDes Integrated
The Yahara product family’s rich suite of 10G OTN framing, mapping and FEC features, combined with 10G PHY integration and multiple small footprint package offerings, enables a variety of highly cost-effective multiport 10G card solutions for metro and long-haul networks, including 10 x 10G to 100G muxponder applications.

10GE Super-PHY and OTN Framer/Mapper with FEC/EFEC(G.975-1 I.4)
The integration of OTN’s FEC and EDC technologies into AppliedMicro’s Pemaquid 10GbE mapper device offers the potential for greatly improving the cost-effective deployment of next-generation data services and transport technologies such as Metro/Carrier Ethernet.

10G OTN UFEC (G.975-1 I.7) Encoder/Decoder
Ural is designed to work in conjunction with other AppliedMicro 10G OTN FEC/framer/mapper devices such as Yahara and Rubicon. It is ideal for applications where line interoperability is important. Applications include enhanced metro "Black Link" interfaces (UFEC, EFEC, GFEC compatibility) and Packet over Glass (PoG) applications where connection of multi-vendor routers is required without losing the higher gain capability provided by the different enhanced FECs employed at 10G OTN rates.

10GE & OC192/48 OTN Framer/Mapper with FEC/EFEC(G.975-1 I.4)
Rubicon is based on AppliedMicro’s popular and industry-proven EFEC code, originally brought to market in AppliedMicro’s previous generation EFEC chip, Niagara. Like Niagara, Rubicon can run in both EFEC and GFEC (generic FEC or Reed-Solomon code) modes. The respective EFEC and GFEC codes in each device are also interoperable, allowing Rubicon and Niagara to seamlessly coexist on the same optical network. By allowing customers to realize the benefits of next-generation technology, while providing a minimal effort upgrade path from Niagara, Rubicon facilitates a faster time-to-market for 10G and 2.5G FEC applications in WDM and MSPP platforms. Rubicon EFEC is compatible with EFEC available in Yahara, Pemaquid, and PQx.
SoftSilicon® OTN Processors
The TPO series of SoftSilicon® OTN processors from AppliedMicro provide mapping, multiplexing, and cross-connection of packet and TDM clients for transport over OTN networks. They map any client type and rate into right-sized ODU containers including mapping to ODU0 and ODUflex.
The SoftSilicon® OTN processors range in bandwidth from 2.5 Gbps to 100 Gbps and cover applications from transponders to large ODU cross-connects. Add-drop mux. The TPO devices enable the build of an OTN networking layer that replaces the old SONET/SDH networks and complements packet switching networks.

PQx Family
6x10G/40G Any-Client OTN Framer/Mapper/PHY with FEC/EFEC(G.975-1 I.4)/UFEC(G.975-1 I.7)
PQx is the industry's highest-density, lowest-power 10G/40G optical transport network (OTN) framer/PHY system-on-a-chip (SoC) for Carrier Ethernet router and WDM transport systems. With 60 Gigabits of total capacity, the PQx is a key enabler for telecom and datacom customers to deploy next-generation 100G systems and cloud computing applications.
PQx is AppliedMicro's third generation of OTN framer device with integrated high-speed PHYs and fractional-N clock synthesizers. Building on the success of the company's Rubicon, Pemaquid, and Yahara devices, PQx provides the industry's highest I/O bandwidth at 240 Gbps at high-performance and maintains compliance to various standards such as SONET/SDH, XFP/SFP+, and SFI5.1/CFP.
