APM86290's advanced SoC architecture offers flexible energy management that enables multiple power savings modes, including a "deep sleep" mode with operating power of less than 200mW. The family also supports energy-efficient Ethernet (EEE) and includes Wake-on-LAN, USB, and PCI Express.

AppliedMicro's APM86290 offers secure boot and authentication and state of the art crypto capabilities that address a variety of mission critical and sensitive system applications. The cryptographic boundary within APM86290 supports tamper detection and tamper response in the event of the need for protecting critical security parameters.
